Dave Christian

The son of Bill Christian, a legendary American amateur hockey star who played with the 1960 gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic team, Dave Christian added the the family's rich hockey legacy by winning a gold medal with the "Miracle on Ice" team in 1980. He would go on to score 340 goals for five NHL teams over a 15-year career.

Christian was a forward who was converted to defense for the U.S. Olympic team because coach Herb Brooks thought he was smart enough and talented enough to handle the switch. Christian led the American team with eight assists en route to the gold medal at the Lake Placid Games. In addition to his Olympic experience, Christian represented the United States at the Canada Cup tournament in 1981, 1984 and 1991. He also played at the World Championships in 1981 and 1989.
