The Swedes won the title behind the All-Star performances of goaltender Lars Eriksson, defenseman Hakan Nordin and forwards Jan Erixon and Patrik Sundstrom. Eriksson was also chosen as the tournament's Best Goalie, while Sundstrom was tabbed as the Best Forward. The tournament was very high scoring, with an average of 10.3 goals scored in every game. The Czechoslovakians beat Austria by a record score of 21-4. Six players tied for the tournament scoring lead with nine points, Germany's Dieter Hegen leading the parade with eight goals.
