Espen Knutsen

International Scored nine points at the 1990 World Junior Championships ... Though he was a -20 at the 1991 World Junior Championships, he was actually voted the "Star-of-the-Game" for Norway in five of seven games ... Made his debut with the Norwegian National Team at the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics ... Has played at four World Championships for Norway since.

Career Selected in the 10th round (ninth choice, 204th overall) of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft by the Hartford Whalers ... Knutsen grew up a few blocks from the Valerengen club rink, as his father was a dynamic scorer for the team ... Knutsen's father was a part-time hairdresser who was slippery as a player so he was given the sobriquet "Soap"... Espen is nicknamed "Shampoo"... Played five years for Valerengen IF Oslo of the Norwegian League and three seasons with Djurgardens IF Stockholm of the Swedish League ... Knutsen was traded to Anaheim in 1996 ... Played for the Mighty Ducks in the 1997-98 season.
