Karl Friesen

Karl Friesen was born in Winnipeg and began his playing career in Manitoba before going on to a lengthy career in Germany spent mostly with Rosenheim. He played with Maine in the American Hockey League in 1985-86 and spent four games with the New Jersey Devils in 1986-87 before returning to Germany. Friesen was a longtime member of the West German National Team, who played at the World Championships six times between 1981 and 1989. He also represented West Germany at the Canada Cup in 1984 and at the Olympics in 1984 and 1988. In 1992, he played for the unified German team at the Albertville Olympics. Star Player Photo
