| Leadership skills and a fierce determination, more than sheer ability, are the attributes of all six Sutter brothers who have played in the NHL. They are also the talents that saw Brent Sutter selected to the Team Canada roster at three successive Canada Cup tournaments. Sutter played on a line with fellow New York Islanders Mike Bossy and John Tonelli at the 1984 event and helped Canada avenge its 1981 tournament loss by sweeping Sweden in the finals. Sutter was also a key contributor to Canada's 1987 victory when the Soviets were defeated in a thrilling three-game final. He added a third Canada Cup victory in 1991 when the Canadians beat the United States to win the tournament. |
