Thomas Gradin

Thomas Gradin played junior hockey with MoDo from 1972-73 until 1975-76. During that time, he was a member of the Swedish Junior National Team at the three unofficial World Junior Championships staged in 1974, 1975 and 1976. He was named to the all-star team at the 1974 tournament and was selected best forward at the European Junior Championships that same year. Gradin went on to play for AIK Solna in the Swedish elite league in 1976-77 and 1977-78, representing his country at the World Championships in 1978.

Gradin was drafted by the Chicago Black Hawks in 1976 but his rights were traded to the Vancouver Canucks before he made his NHL debut in 1978-79. He became one of Vancouver's top players during his eight seasons with the Canucks. He also represented Sweden at the Canada Cup in 1981 and 1984. Gradin finished his NHL career with the Boston Bruins in 1986-87, then returned to Sweden were he played three more years with AIK Solna. He then coached MoDo for three years and made a brief return to action in 1996-97 when he played a pair of games for Vastra Frolunda.
