International Became a member of the Austrian National Team in 1986 ... Made his international debut at 1986 World and European Championship (Pool B) ... Played at two Olympics and 10 World and European Championships, including appearances in Pool A in 1995 and 1996 ... Had his best tournament in 1992 (Pool B), when he collected one goal and 11 assists for 12 points in 7 games.

Career At the age of 16 he played on the same line with international star Alexander Yakushev while with the Kapfenberg club...He was the youngest player in the league...Later he became a three-time national champion with Klagenfurt and Innsbruck...Had a great season in 1992-93 with Graz, recording 25 goals and 47 assists for 72 points in 52 games ... Considered the best player in Austria from 1988 to 1990 ... Nicknamed "Kertzky," like Gretzky.
