Sean Burke

The father of star NHL goaltender Martin Brodeur (who represented Canada at the World Championships and the World Cup of Hockey in 1996, as well as the Olympics in 1998) Denis Brodeur earned a bronze medal with the Kitchener-Waterloo Dutchmen in 1956 when that team represented Canada at the Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.

Brodeur shared netminding duties with Keith Woodall at the 1956 Olympics, with both men posting 3-1 records in four games each. Brodeur registered a shutout in Canada's 4-0 win over Germany to open the tournament and allowed just eight goals in his four games for a goals-against average of 2.00. Unfortunately, his 4-1 loss to the United States and Woodall's 2-0 loss to the Soviets in the final game doomed Canada to a third-place finish, the country's worst Olympic result to that point in history.
