Karyn Bye

Karyn Bye was the United States' top scorer with five goals in six games on the gold medal-winning women's team at the 1998 Nagano Olympics. Bye returned to the Olympic games in 2002 and won a silver medal. She is considered to have one of the hardest shots in women's hockey and is a good skater with excellent puck control who has averaged a goal per game in international competition. Bye played high school hockey on the boy's team in River Falls, Wisconsin before going on to play women's university hockey at New Hampshire. As a member of the United States National Women's Team, she has appeared at the Women's World Championships in 1992, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2001 where the Americans finished second behind Canada every year. Bye was named to the tournament All-Star Team in 1994. She has also represented the United States at the Pacific Rim Championship in 1995 and 1996. Star Player Photo
