Ken Morrow

Ken Morrow became the first player in hockey history to win an Olympic gold medal and the Stanley Cup in the same season, winning with the "Miracle on Ice" United States hockey team at Lake Placid in February of 1980 and then with the New York Islanders in May. His solid positional play anchored the American defense and helped may Jim Craig's brilliant play possible. Morrow went on to play with four consecutive Stanley Cup-winning teams with the Islanders.

At 6'4" and 210 pounds, Morrow was a defensive defenseman who went on to play10 seasons in the NHL, all with the Islanders. Previously, he had become the first All-American player ever chosen at Bowling Green University in 1978-79.
