Robbie Ftorek

Robbie Ftorek was a member of the United States National Team and played at the Sapporo Olympics in 1972 when the Americans earned a surprising silver medal. The Americans success that year was completely unexpected, as the U.S. had already been relegated to the B-Pool of the World Championships due to poor performances in previous years. Ftorek was also a member of the B-Pool World Championship team in 1972 and was named to the tournament All-Star Team.

Ftorek had become a star in the World Hockey Association by the time he represented the United States at the inaugural Canada Cup tournament in 1976. He was playing in the NHL in 1981 when he made his final international appearance at that year's Canada Cup.
