| Mark Pavelich played with Buzz Schneider and John Harrington on the "Conehead Line" (named after the Saturday Night Live characters) on the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" gold medal-winning team at Lake Placid. Pavelich joined the U.S. National Team from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and contributed a goal and seven assists to the Olympic effort.
Pavelich played with Lugano in Switzerland in 1980-81 and represented the United States again that season when he joined the American team at the 1981 World Championships. He entered the NHLwith the New York Rangers in 1981-82 and played five seasons before joining the Minnesota North Stars in 1986-87. Pavelich then spent two years playing in Switzerland and Italy and later returned to the NHL with the San Jose Sharks for two games in 1991-92. |
