International Named assistant coach of the Czechoslovakian National Team in 1979...Was named the head coach after the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics...His best achievements were the victories at the 1985 and 1996 World Championships ... After spending six years with the Czechoslovak National Team, he was invited to coach the Austrian National Team in 1986 ... In 1991 he started to coach the German National Team ... Came back to Czech Republic in 1994 and was named the head coach of the Czech team ... One of the most respected coaches in Europe, Bukac coached at five Olympics, two Canada Cup tournaments, one World Cup of Hockey and 14 World and European Championships.

Career Began his hockey career in 1946 with the boys team of LTC Praha...Played until 1963 with four Prague teams: LTC, I.CLTK, Motorlet and Sparta, also with Dukla Jihlava ... Spent 13 seasons in Czechoslovak League, recording 153 goals in 330 games ... He played on national champions in 1947, 1948 and 1949 with LTC Praha ... Saw action in 30 games with the Czechoslovak National Team, scoring 11 goals ... Participated at the 1961 (silver) and 1963 (bronze) World Championships ... After retirement as a player, he began to study the profession of hockey coach ... To get experience, he was sent to the Oklahoma City Blazers (the Boston Bruins farm club) in 1965 and CSKA Moscow in 1966 ... Began his coaching career in 1967 with Sparta Praha ... Coached Sparta, VSZ Kosice and Motor Ceske Budejovice until 1980.
