Dusan Pasek

Dusan Pasek represented Czechoslovakia at the World Junior Championships in 1979 and 1980 before playing at the Canada Cup in 1981. He went on to represent Czechoslovakia at the Canada Cup again in 1984 and 1987 as well as at five World Championships and at the Olympics in Sarajevo in 1984 and Calgary in 1988. Pasek spent one year in the NHL with the Minnesota North Stars in 1988-89 and played with the Kalamazoo Wings the following year before returning to his hometown of Bratislava in 1990-91. He also played in Italy and Finland over three seasons. In 1992, Pasek became general manager of the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation as well as the Slovan Bratislava team, moving up to vice president and then president in 1995. Slovakia won the Pool C World Championships in 1994, the Pool B title the following year and played at the World Cup of Hockey in 1996. Pasek was part of the executive of the Slovak team that played at Nagano in 1998. He was shot and killed shortly after the Olympics. Star Player Photo
