One of the top defensemen in the NHL over a lengthy career, Scott Stevens has represented Canada in international play six times. He made his international debut at the World Championships in 1983, winning a bronze medal, and added a silver medal in both 1985 and 1989. Stevens was also with the Canadian team that finished fourth at the World Championships in 1987. He registered his first international tournament victory in 1991 when Team Canada defeated the United States in the finals of the Canada Cup. In 1996, Stevens was a member of the Canadian team that lost to the U.S. at the World Cup of Hockey. |
