Danielle Goyette

Though her father died shortly before the Olympics, Danielle Goyette was Canada's leading scorer with nine points in Nagano and led the tournament with eight goals. She had the lone goal for Canada in the 3-1 loss to the United States that gave the Americans the 1998 Olympic gold medal. Goyette then went on to win gold medals at the 1999, 2000 and 2001 World Championships before finally winning gold at the 2002 Olympics where she ended up in a three way tie for the tournament lead with 10 points. Goyette was again one of the main offensive threats for Team Canada when they captured another gold at the Women's World Championships in 2004.A great skater and with an accurate shot, Goyette led Canada in scoring with 10 points (three goals and seven assists) at the 1992 World Championships and was an All-Star at the 1994 tournament when she led Canada with nine goals and 12 points. Goyette was a member of a third World Champion squad in 1997. She has also represented Canada at the Pacific Rim Championship in both 1995 and 1996, scoring the winning goal in a shootout with the Americans at the 1995 event. Star Player Photo
