Gary Begg

Gary Begg became a member of the Canadian National Team when the program was established in 1963-64 to represent Canada in international events. A defensive defenseman, Begg was named to the tournament All-Star Team in 1966 when the Nats claimed their first World Championship medal, a bronze. He had also been a member of the team that finished fourth at the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics after a controversial change to the tie-breaking format and played with the fourth-place team at the 1965 World Championships. Later, Begg would add a bronze medal at the 1967 World Championships and conclude his international career with the Nats in 1969.
