Wilf Paiement

Wilf Paiement was a member of the first Canadian team to play at the World Championships since the country's boycott of international events in 1970 when he took part in the tournament in 1977. Paiement had scored 41 goals for the Colorado Rockies in his third NHL season that year to earn a spot on the Team Canada roster. Though he collected five goals and five assists for 10 points in 10 games, Canada could finish no better than fourth.

Paiement returned to the World Championships in 1978 and had six goals and one assist to help Canada earn a bronze medal. Canada slipped to fourth again at the 1979 event, but Paiement earned honors as the Best Forward that year even though his three goals and three assists represented his lowest point total in the three years he played at the tournament.
