After a season in which he would earn First-Team All-Star honors in the NHL, Al MacInnis made his international hockey debut when he played for Team Canada at the 1990 World Championships. The following year, he was a member of the Canada Cup-winning Canadian squad. MacInnis was selected to represent his country once again at the World Cup of Hockey in 1996, but an injury kept him out of the tournament. MacInnis competed for Canada in both the 1998 and 2002 Olympics, winning gold in 2002. |
