Theoren Fleury

Theoren Fleury was a member of the Canadian National Junior Team that was disqualified from the World Junior Championships in 1987 after brawling with the Soviet Union. He returned to the tournament the following year to captain Canada to a gold medal. Fleury had six goals and two assists in 1988 and was named to the tournament All-Star Team along with fellow Canadians Greg Hawgood and Jimmy Waite and future NHL stars Sergei Fedorov and Alexander Mogilny. In 1990, Fleury represented Canada at the World Championships, where his 11 points (four goals and seven assists) ranked second on the team behind Steve Yzerman. Fleury returned to the World Championships in 1991 and helped Canada win a silver medal. In September of 1991, he was a member of the Canada Cup-winning Team Canada squad. In 1996, Fleury represented Canada at the World Cup of Hockey and in 1998 he was a member of the Canadian team at the Nagano Olympics.
