Scott Young

Scott Young is one of only 10 players to have represented the United States three times at the World Junior Championships. He played at the tournament in 1985, 1986 and 1987, winning a bronze medal in 1986 and being named to the tournament All-Star Team in 1987 after scoring seven goals in seven games. Young also played at the World Championships that year.

Young was a member of the U.S. National Team in 1987-88 and collected two goals and six assists at the 1988 Calgary Olympics before making his NHL debut with the Hartford Whalers. He represented the United States at the World Championships again in 1989 and re-joined the National Team in 1991-92, playing at the Albertville Olympics. Young also had 22 goals in 18 games playing with Bolzano in Italy that season.

After returning to the NHL with the Quebec Nordiques for two seasons, Young once again played for the United States at the 1994 World Championships and then spent most of the 1994-95 season in Germany. Back in the NHL, Young earned a Stanley Cup ring with the Colorado Avalanche in June of 1996 and was a member of the United States team that defeated Canada in the World Cup of Hockey in September of that year.
