Inge Hammarstrom

Inge Hammarstrom played with Brynas in the Swedish league from 1969-70 until 1972-73. He was also a member of the Swedish National Team from 1971 to 1973, winning a silver medal (1972) and two bronze medals at the World Championships as well as playing at the 1972 Sapporo Olympics. He was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1973 and made his NHL debut along with countryman and teammate Borje Salming in 1973-74. Hammarstrom played six years in the NHL with Toronto and the St. Louis Blues.

In the midst of his NHLcareer, Hammarstrom again represented Sweden at the inaugural Canada Cup tournament in 1976 and at the World Championships in 1979 where he earned another bronze medal. Returning to Brynas in 1979-80, Hammarstrom played for three more years and won a silver medal at the World Championships in 1981.
