|After four years of college hockey with the University of Wisconsin, and having represented the United States at the World Junior Championships in 1983 and 1984, Tony Granato joined the U.S. National Team in 1987-88. He played at the 1988 Olympics and made his professional debut in the International Hockey League following the Calgary Games.
Granato broke into the NHL with the New York Rangers in 1988-89 and has gone on to play with the Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks. In addition to his Olympic experience he represented the United States at the World Championships four years in a row from 1985 to 1988. Granato was also a member of the U.S. team that lost to Canada in the finals of the 1991 Canada Cup.
