Ferdinand "Pic" Cattini


Ferdinand Torriani Cattini was born on September 27, 1916 in Grono, Switzerland. He saw action in 107 national team games and scored 92 goals. Cattini won the Swiss national championship title 15 times, won the European championship in 1935 and 1939, and was an Olympic bronze medalist at the 1948 Olympic Winter Games. Together with IIHF Hall of Famer Bibi Torriani, they formed one of the best forward lines in Europe, called the "Ni" line, between 1933 and 1947. He played for HC Davos from 1932 to 1956 and coached the team from 1952 to 1962. Ferdinand Cattini died on August 17, 1969.
