Vaclav Nedomansky


Vaclav Nedomansky was born March 14, 1944 in Hodonin, Czechoslovakia. He made his IIHF debut at the 1965 World Championship in Finland and played in all subsequent World Championships until 1974 when he left to play professional ice hockey in the WHA (with Toronto and Birmingham) and the NHL (with Detroit, St. Louis and the New York Rangers). Nedomansky won silver at the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble and a bronze medal in 1972 in Sapporo. He was elected to the IIHF World Championship All-Star team in 1969,1970 and 1974. Nedomansky won the World Championship title in 1972 in Prague plus four silver medals and three bronze medals.
