Pekka Marjamäki


Pekka Marjamäki was born on December 18, 1947 in Tampere, Finland. A defenseman, Marjamäki played 251 national team games and scored 40 goals. He Participated at two Olympics and 10 World and European, and is known for one of the hardest shots in Europe. Marjamäki played on teams that won the Finnish national title five times:1974-75, 1976-77, 1978-79, 1981-82 and 1983-84. Marjamäki won the IIHF Directorate best defenseman award at the 1975 IIHF World Championship Pool A.
