Karel Gut |

| Karel Gut was born on September 16, 1927 in Prague, Czechoslovakia . He played in 114 national team games and scored 35 goals. Gut was a bronze medalist at the 1955, 1957 and 1959 World and European Championships and earned Best Defenseman honours in 1955.. He also captured Olympic bronze in 1952, 1956 and 1960. Gut was a long time national team coach with two IIHF World Championship titles. He is currently president of the Czech Republic Ice Hockey Federation. |
