Anatoli Firsov


Anatoli Firsov was born on February 1, 1941. A forward with brilliant skills and an extremely hard slap shot, Firsov was an Olympic Champion in 1964, 1968 and 1972. He was the leading scorer in Grenoble in 1968 with 12 goals and four assists for a total of 16 points in seven games. Firsov was an eight time IIHF World Champion, was voted IIHF Directorate best forward in 1967, 1968 and 1971 and was named an IIHF World Championship all-star from 1967 through 1971. Firsov won the scoring title at the IIHF World Championships in 1967, 1969, 1970 and 1971.
