A Training Camp First
In the fall of 1957, 24 year-old Sven Tumba (Johansson) became the first European-trained player to attend an NHL team's training camp when he spent two months with the Boston Bruins. A fractured wrist ended his stay with Boston and Tumba went on to join the Quebec Aces of the Quebec Hockey League.

Super Loob
Hakan Loob was the first Swedish player to notch 50 goals in an NHL season. He accomplished the feat with the Calgary Flames in the 1987-88 season.

Peter Forsberg was the first hockey player to appear on a Swedish postage stamp. This stamp commemorates Forsberg's gold-winning goal in the climactic shootout versus Canada at the 1994 Lillehamar Games

Sweden's Kent Nilsson became the first European-born player to score 100 points in an NHL season on February 27, 1981. He finished the season with 131 to rank third in the league.

Sweden Handily Takes Group Europe
A World Cup program from the game between Sweden and Finland. The Swedes beat their Scandinavian rivals 5–2. Sweden finished the first round with a perfect 3-0-0 record, but lost a 2-1 heartbreaker to Canada in the semi-finals. Mats Sundin led the "Triple Crown" with seven points in the tournament.
