History
Hockey in Armenia
In the town of Svedlosvsk (now Jekaterinburg)in Russia; the former Soviet Union hosted a tournament that pitted all of the Soviet States against one another in 1962. The Amenians participated and lost by the narrowest of margins; 1-0, versus Lithuania. Years later, with the Soviet Union spintered and the former Soviet States independent, Armenia, now it's own nation; Armenia has returned to the hockey world, now participating on the global stage. Aremenia joined the International Ice Hockey Federation in 1999, joining many nations comprised of former countrymen like Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Estonia and the Ukraine.
