Calgary Flames

After finishing as runner-up to Martin Brodeur for the award in 2003-04, the Calgary Flames' Miikka Kiprusoff would edge out Brodeur as the NHL's best goaltender in 2005-06, becoming both the Flames first winner, as well as the first Finnish-born netminder to win the Vezina. Kiprusoff would play in a career-high 74 games with a league-leading 4,304:47 minutes played to finish with a record of 42-20-11 and earn the Flames a 1st place finish in the Northwest Division. Also a 1st Team All-Star and the Jennings Trophy winner, he would allow a mere 151 goals over the course of the season and post a league best 2.07 goals against average to go with ten shutouts. Kiprusoff was also nominated for the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP.
