1995-96
After being a finalist in his rookie campaign a year earlier, JIM CAREY captured the VEZINA TROPHY as a sophomore. The first Washington goalie to cop the award, CAREY recorded a career-high 35 wins, second best in the league, led the NHL with nine shutouts and posted a sparkling 2.26 goals-against average and .906 save percentage. The Wings' Chris Osgood placed second in VEZINA balloting.
