The group set a club record by allowing only 201 goals. SAUVE led the way with a record of 20-8-4, including four of the club's six shutouts and an NHL best 2.36 goals-against average. EDWARDS was named to the Second All-Star Team for his efforts which included a 27-9-12 record and a 2.57 goals-against average while positioning the Sabres second in the NHL standings during the regular season. Boston's Gerry Cheevers and Gilles Gilbert were the VEZINA runners-up.
