Detroit Red Wings
1997-98

One of the best teams, if not the best team of the 1990's, the Detroit Red Wings won their second straight Stanley Cup in 1998. Led by Hall of Fame coach Scotty Bowman and the leadership of captain and eventual Conn Smythe winner Steve Yzerman, the Red Wings swept the Washington Capitals in four straight games. In one of the most emotional moments in NHL history, Yzerman presented the Stanley Cup to former teammate Vladimir Konstantinov, who was now confined to a wheelchair as a result of an accident following the Detroit 1997 Stanley Cup celebration.
