The Vancouver Canucks celebrated the franchises 40th anniversary during the 2010-11season. They also did something the club had never done before; finished the regular season as the NHL's top team to win the Presidents' Trophy.
In a dominant season for Vancouver, the Canucks not only scored the most goals in the NHL, but also allowed the fewest and for the second straight season the NHL's leading scorer (Daniel Sedin) was a member of the Canucks.
The Canucks continued their strong play into the NHL playoffs. They knocked off the rival Blackhawks, Predators and Sharks en route to a berth in the Stanley Cup Final, but were defeated in seven games by the champion Boston Bruins.
