1989-90
Longtime Edmonton Oilers defenceman Kevin Lowe, an alternate captain, was a workhorse and leader during the Oilers fifth Stanley Cup title in 1989-90. An active member of the NHLPA, he spent some of his personal time as Honourary Chairman of the Edmonton City Christmas Bureau, making sure all needy families throughout the city were fed. Lowe's other charitable endeavours included the "Shining Lights" Royal Canadian Mounted Police initiative for preventing child abuse and the hosting of a golf tournament in Quebec
