Joining the Hamilton Tigers in the NHL during the 1922-23 season, it didn't take BILLY BURCH long to prove he belonged in the NHL. In 1924-25, BURCH scored 20 goals and 7 assists for 27 points. He finished eighth in scoring, and helped the Tigers complete the season in first place. His performance earned him the HART TROPHY as the NHL's most valuable player. Howie Morenz, star of the Canadiens, was runner-up to BURCH.
