TEEMU SELANNE was the first round draft choice of the Winnipeg Jets in 1988, but played four more seasons with Jokerit Helsinki in his Finnish hometown before joining the Jets in 1992-93. SELANNE not only did he enter the NHL, he burst into the league like few had ever done before. The rookie scored an incredible 76 goals plus 56 assists to finish fifth in scoring with 132 points. SELANNE's goal total led the NHL in 1992-93, a feat he would accomplish again in 1997-98 and 1998-99. For his incredible offensive outburst, TEEMU SELANNE was an overwhelming choice for the CALDER TROPHY in 1992-93. The runner-up was Joey Juneau of the Boston Bruins.
