The greatest comeback of all time: Toronto coming back to win the Cup in 1941-42 after being down three games to none against Detroit? No way. The single greatest comeback of all time HAS to be the return of MARIO LEMIEUX in 1992-93. LEMIEUX was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, a form of cancer, and missed 24 games while undergoing treatment. Yet, MARIO returned to Pittsburgh and proceeded to not only play again, but to be dominant once again. MARIO won the scoring race, collecting 69 goals and 91 assists for 160 points, all accomplished in just 60 games. But even more difficult to comprehend is that LEMIEUX had been in radiation therapy while his Penguin teammates were playing the early portion of the 1992-93 season. To celebrate his incredible season, made that much more unbelievable when you factor in his physical challenge, MARIO LEMIEUX was awarded the MASTERTON TROPHY for 1992-93.
