Brendan Perlini was born on April 27, 1996 in Guildford, England where his father was a star in the British Hockey League. A product of the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League, Brendan was selected in the first round, twelfth overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Perlini would begin the 2016-17 season in the American Hockey League with the Coyotes’ affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners. He would appear in 17 games and was among the league leaders in goals before he was recalled to the NHL. He made his NHL debut on December 6, 2016 and would go on to see action in 57 contests, scoring 14 times and adding seven assists. Perlini would set career-highs in goals, assists and points during the 2017-18 season, notching 17, 13 and 30 respectively.

On November 25, 2018, Perlini's time in the Coyotes' organization would come to an end. He was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks along with Dylan Strome in exchange for Nick Schmaltz.
