Daniel Bang was born April 19, 1987 in Kista, Sweden. A product of AIK in his native, Sweden, Bang started with their junior club and rose up to join their Elite League team.

After two seasons in the Swedish Elite League, Bang signed a deal with the Nashville Predators on June 1, 2012. With the NHL locked out to begin the 2012-13 season, Bang made his North American debut in the American Hockey League for the Predator's affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals. In 53 games for the club he would record nine goals and 13 assists.

Bang would get his first taste of NHL action in the late stages of the 2012-13 season. He would suit up for eight games for the Predators, recording a pair of assists.
