Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Mike Halmo
Mike Halmo was born on May 15, 1991 in Waterloo, Ontario. The undrafted left winger played his entire four year OHL career with the Owen Sound Attack where he helped his team win the J. Ross Roberston Cup to signify themselves as OHL champions in 2011.

Despite not being drafted, the New York Islanders signed him to an NHL entry level contract in 2011. Halmo would spend one more season with the Attack before the Islanders would assign him to their AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Halmo would spend parts of three seasons with the Sound Tigers before the Islanders would give him a shot at the NHL level. Halmo made his NHL debut on February 27, 2014 in a 5-4 overtime win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Later in the season on April 1, 2014, Halmo would score his first career NHL goal in a 4-2 victory over the Florida Panthers.
