Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Quinton Howden
Quinton Howden was born on January 21, 1992 in Oakbank, Manitoba. Howden played his junior hockey for the Moose Jaw Warriors after being the first overall pick in the 2007 Western Hockey League draft. In his second year with the Warriors Howden began to show the offensive instincts that had made him the first overall pick, notching 65 points in 65 games.

Howden would continue to progress offensively the following season. He would reach the 40 goal mark for the Warriors and was named to Canada's team at the World Junior Championship where he helped bring home a silver medal. In 2012, Howden was once again a member of the Canadian team, this time returning with a bronze medal.

Howden was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft (25th overall). He would make his professional debut for the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League during the AHL's playoffs in 2012. He would appear in four games for the club, though fail to register a point. In his first full professional season, 2012-13, Howden would appear in 57 games for the Rampage in the AHL. He would impress, scoring 13 times and adding 17 helpers. Howden would also get his first taste of NHL action during the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season, suiting up for 18 games for the Florida Panthers.

On July 1, 2016, Howden's time in the Panthers' organization would come to an end. He signed as an unrestricted free agent with the Winnipeg Jets.
