Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Alexander Burmistrov
Alexander Burmistrov was born on October 21, 1991 in Kazan, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. Following just one season with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League, Burmistrov was selected in the first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers.

The following season he would appear in 74 games for the club, recording 6 goals and adding 14 assists. Following the 2010-11 season, Burmistrov, along with his Thrashers teammates would relocate to Winnipeg and the Thrashers re-named the Jets.

After the shortened 2013 season, Burmistrov elected to sign a two year contract with Ak Bars Kazan of the KHL. Following two seasons in the KHL, Burmistrov rejoined the Jets for the 2015-16 season. In 81 games for the club he scored seven times and added 14 assists.

Alexander Burmistrov would struggle to find his offensive form to start the 2016-17 season and was waived by the Jets after just 23 games. He was subsequently claimed by the Arizona Coyotes and would join the club for the remainder of the season. As a free agent at season's end, Burmistrov inked a deal with the Vancouver Canucks.

On the international stage, Burmistrov helped his homeland to the gold medal at the 2014 IIHF World Championships.
