Anthony Aaron Volpatti was born May 30, 1985 in Revelstoke, British Columbia. a product of Brown University he went undrafted, but signed as a free agent witht he Vancouver Canucks on March 22, 2010. He then joined their American Hockey League affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, for the remainder of their 2009-10 season.

Volpatti made his NHL debut on December 18, 2010 in a home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. In total he would appear in 15 games for the Canucks in his rookie season, recording a goal and an assist.

Injuries limited Volpatti to just just 23 games for the Canucks during the 2011-12 season.
