Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jay Beagle
Jay Beagle was born on October 16, 1985 in Calgary, Alberta. Following two collegiate seasons at the University of Alaska-Anchorage, Beagle began his professional career with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL.

Beagle signed with the Washington Capitals in March of 2008 and joined their AHL affiliate in Hershey. He would spend the majority of the season there, but would get his first taste of NHL action, appearing in three games for the Capitals.

With the Capitals, Beagle would establish himself as a reliable centre, serving often on the fourth line in a checking role. During the 2014-15 season, Beagle set career highs in goals and points, notching 10 and 20 respectively in 62 games. Two seasons later Beagle would set new personal best, finding the back of the net 13 times and adding 17 assists for 30 point.

During the 2018 NHL playoffs, Beagle would be a key contributor to the Capitals Stanley Cup run. He appeared in 23 games for the club, scoring twice and adding six assists. With the Stanley Cup win, Beagle became the first player to win championships in the ECHL, AHL and NHL.

In the summer of 2018 Beagle's time in Washington would come to an end. He signed as an unrestricted free agent with the Vancouver Canucks.
