Adam Henrique was born on February 6, 1990 in Brantford, Ontario. The product of the OHLís Windsor Spitfires was drafted in the third round, 82nd overall, during the 2008 NHL Entry draft by the New Jersey Devils.

During his time in Windsor, he helped the team win two Memorial Cup Championships in 2009 and 2010. At the conclusion of his OHL career, Henrique was assigned to the New Jersey Devils AHL affiliate, the Albany Devils for the 2010-11 season.

Henrique spent most of the season in Albany where he played in 73 games scoring 25 goals and 50 points. On the last day of the NHL regular season, Henrique made his NHL debut during a 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins.

As a rookie in the NHL, Henrique came onto the scene scoring 16 goals and 51 points over 74 games. He also helped lead the Devils all the way to the 2012 Stanley Cup Final where they lost to the Los Angeles Kings in six games. His stellar rookie year resulted him to being named a finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year.

Henrique was signed to a six year contract on August 26, 2013. He rewarded the Devils that coming season by scoring 25 goals and 43 points to break out as an everyday player.

On the international stage, Henrique has represented Canada once during the 2010 World Junior Championship in a Silver Medal performance.

Henrique would reach the 30-goal plateau for the first time during the 2014-15 season. He would also add 20 assists for 50 points, his highest output since his first season.

On November 30, 2017, Henrique's time in New Jersey would come to an end. He was traded to the Anaheim Ducks along with Joseph Blandisi in exchange for defenceman Sami Vatanen. Henrique would find his offensive game on the West Coast. Suiting up in 57 games for the Ducks, he found the back of the net 20 times.
