Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jason Garrison
Jason Garrison was born on November 13, 1984 in White Rock, British Columbia. He played his collegiate hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, before joining the Florida Panthers' AHL affiliate in Rochester in 2008. Though he spent the majority of the 2008-09 season with Rochester, Garrison received his first taste of NHL action, appearing in a single game for the Panthers.

During the 2011-12 seasons, Garrison set a career high in goals and points when he found the back of the net 16 times and added 17 assists.

Prior to the 2012-13 season, Garrison signed a six year contract with the Vancouver Canucks. In his second season with the club, he tied his career high with 33 points.

At the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Garrison was traded along with Jeff Costello and a seventh round draft pick to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a second round draft pick. He would go on to spend three seasons with the Lightning before being selected in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft by the Vegas Golden Knights. Garrison spent the majority of the 2017-18 season with the Knights' AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, seeing action in just 8 games for Vegas.

Prior to the 2018-19 season, Garrison inked a deal with the Edmonton Oilers. He would struggle to find a regular spot in the lineup however and after just 17 games was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks who subsequently waived the veteran defender.

On the international stage, Garrison represented Canada at the 2014 World Championship, helping his homeland to a fifth place finish.
