Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Jim O'Brien
Jim O'Brien was born January 29, 1989 in Maplewood, Minnesota. Following one year at University of Minnesota, he was selected in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators. He would then join the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League for two seasons.

O'Brien would make his professional debut for the Binghamton Senators toward the end of the 2008-09 season and would not get his taste of NHL life until December 30, 2010. In total, he would see action in six games for the Senators during the 2010-11 season, though the highlight came in the AHL post-season when O'Brien and his Senators teammates captured the 2011 Calder Cup championship.
