Zach Hamill was born on September 23, 1988 in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. A standout in the Western Hockey League for the Everett Silvertips, Hamill was selected 8th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2007 NHL Draft and won the Bob Clarke Trophy as the WHL's leading scorer.
Hamill made his professional debut with the Providence Bruins in 2007-08 recording 5 points in just 7 games. In April of 2010 Hamill finally got his chance on NHL ice. He appeared in his first game against the Washington Capitals, recording an assist.
